Robert “Bob” N. Harshbarger, 55, of Fond du Lac, lost his battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA), a rare form of frontotemporal dementia, on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Harbor Haven, Fond du Lac.

He was born on December 25, 1956, in Fond du Lac, a son of Lawrence and Dorothy T. LaMontagne Harshbarger. Bob graduated in 1975 from Horace Mann High School, North Fond du Lac.

On October 15, 1977, he married Ann K. Witthuhn at Presentation of B.V.M. Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac.

Bob worked for ProBuild in Lomira for over 30 years, and was an active member of the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, Fond du Lac Boating Club, and Wednesday Night Businessman’s Golf League.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters: Kathryn (Matt) Michaels of Buffalo City, and Kristine (Jim) Serwe of Fond du Lac; his brother and sisters: Pat (Linda) Harshbarger of Fond du Lac, Carol Bricco (fiancé Bob Hernke) of Oshkosh, Nancy Albrecht of Van Dyne, Kathy (Jeff) Scharf of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law, Roxy Harshbarger of Arizona; nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Larry Harshbarger and James Harshbarger; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Albrecht.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Oakhill Cemetery, Neenah.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, 705 Mohawk Drive, Fond du Lac.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to PPA Research at the Cognitive Neurology & Alzheimer’s Disease Center (CNADC), Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, 320 East Superior Street, Searle Room 11-453, Chicago, IL 60611. Memorials will also be directed to the planting of a tree in memory of Bob at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.

A special thanks to the entire nursing staff at Snug Harbor in Harbor Haven for their patient, attentive, and loving care given to Bob during his last few months of life.
