Hubert E. Fenske

U.S. Veteran

Hubert E. Fenske, 87, a resident of Woodlands Senior Park, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 7, 2012.

He was born on February 12, 1925, in the Town of Springvale, a son of John A. and Emma E. Quade Fenske. Hubert graduated from Rosendale High School.

Hubert served with the United States Army, during World War II, with the 711Tank Battalion.

On June 6, 1959, he married Marilyn D. Jacobs at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac.

Hubert was employed for 34 years with the United States Postal Service in Fond du Lac and retired as a rural carrier in St. Cloud.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was a member of the Men’s Club. Hubert was also a member of the VFW, DAV, and the American Legion Trier Puddy Post 75.

He enjoyed traveling, some of his favorite places were Hawaii, Okinawa, and Alaska.

He is survived by two children: Timothy J. Fenske and Cheryl L. Fenske; four brothers: Ervin Fenske, Edwin Fenske, Harold Fenske, and Donald (Carolyn) Fenske; and a sister, Betty (Duel) Stobb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn on November 6, 1993; two sisters: Margarete (Pete) Preissner and Arlene Fenske; and two sisters-in-law: Gen Fenske and June Fenske.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Jonathan Christensen officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park.

The visitation will be on Monday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hope Lutheran Church.
