Norma Jean Gray went peacefully from this earth surrounded by her family that adored her on June 29, 2012.
She was born in St. Louis, MO, on Oct. 16, 1931. She met and married her husband, Ray, on Sept 15, 1950. They enjoyed 61 years together and had three daughters.
Norma was a loving wife, wonderful mother, and had so much fun being a grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends almost as much as she enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino.
Norma went back to college when her children started school and earned a masters degree in special education. She taught for many years at schools in both Florida and Rosendale.
After retirement Norma took up quilting and made many good friends in the quilting community. Norma enjoyed gardening, shopping, playing cards, traveling, politics, and brushing her cat, Sassy.
Norma is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters: Kellie Hare, Mandi (Bill) Hendricks, and Missy Gray; grandchildren: Joe Hendricks, Liz (Chris) Robbins, Megan Hare, Tamar Simpson; and great-grandchildren: Sage Simpson, Billie Simpson, and Jadie Hendricks.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Jeffrey Blain officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives on Tuesday at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Norma was a kind, happy, and wonderful lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Fond du Lac Humane Society in her honor.
