Ruth Christiansen Horn, 96, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at home.

She was born on September 5, 1915, in Berwyn, Illinois, a daughter of the late George and Lillian Arnold Beech.

She graduated from West Suburban Hospital, Chicago, as a registered nurse in 1936, and worked at Fond du Lac County Visiting Nurses Association, then as a the health coordinator for St. Agnes School of Nursing, and continued home health care until she was 89 years old. Ruth moved to Floirda in 1967, and then back to Fond du Lac in 2006, and lived independently and held her registered nursing license until the day she died.

Ruth married Edward L. Christiansen on August 19, 1939, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1984. In 1990, she married Walter Horn and he preceded her in death in 1996.

She was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church, Fond du Lac.

She is survived by two children: Carol (Orin) Christiansen-Mueller and John E. (Marilyn) Christiansen; two grandchildren: Michael (Colleen) Christiansen and Dawn (Thomas) Valenta; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Dawn Valenta.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Memorial Baptist Church, 646 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Brian Hastings officiating. Burial will follow in Rienzi Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
